General Information

This is AIBL’s 16th annual national conference offering business and leadership skill development through the participation and engagement of over 150 AIBL chapter members representing their respective AIBL Chapter. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to learn real-world business skills and celebrate their cultural heritage. The “showcase” of the conference continues to be the Business Plan and Chapter of the Year competition with cash stipends awarded to the top three placers in their respective completion category will be made.
The AIBL Leadership Conference is an opportunity for you to:
- Participate in the only national Business Leadership Conference specifically for Native high school and college students
- Work together to create awareness of your Chapter as you fundraise in your setting
- Meet and network with other Native students with similar business interests
- Exchange ideas critical for success in this economy
- Explore your professional options
- Attend a three-day event that includes a workshops, trainings and networking
- Attend a series of professional business symposia, hear dynamic speakers, and participate in panel discussions.

*Letter of Intent – To be eligible, the National AIBL Office must receive your Chapter’s Letter of Intent with data to be provided that includes confirmation of number of chapter size and participation by category for all possible participants, including alternates

*Travel Manifest – The National AIBL Office must receive your completed travel manifest if you are requesting ground transportation to/from the conference venue, arriving/departing from the Minneapolis or Duluth airport, with exact numbers must be received

Conference Fees
The conference registration includes admission to all general and breakout sessions, networking, all scheduled meals, planned dinners and Awards Banquet, ground/local transportation, conference “goodie bag”.

PLEASE NOTE: Upon making your reservation, a first night (refundable up to 72 hours in advance of the convention date) will be required. Major credit cards are required when making reservations and when checking into the hotel room. Cancelation of room must be received at least 30 days to arrival date.

Travel Information
There will be Shuttle Transportation from Duluth/Minneapolis Airports to Black Bear Casino for registered conference members that provide us with a Travel Manifest (arrival and departure information) no later than March 1, 2010. This service will be a schedule service with a limited number of pick-ups and drop-offs. All pick-ups will drop passengers off at the Black Bear Casino Resort.

If you are driving to the conference, upon arrival, please check in first at the Black Bear Casino and Resort upon arrival. Shuttle information, directions and transportation to FDLTCC where conference registration will be held. FDLTCC is approximately a 5 minute drive from the casino.
